Asus has officially unveiled its latest handheld gaming PC, the ROG Ally X, during its Computex 2024 announcements. This eagerly anticipated device, teased last month, promises significant upgrades in various aspects. Sporting a sleek black design, a departure from its predecessor’s white color scheme, the ROG Ally X boasts a 1TB M.2 2280 SSD storage, offering ample space for gaming libraries. Additionally, it retains a Micro SD Card slot for expandable storage and features 24GB of LPDDR5-7500 RAM for smooth multitasking.

One of the notable improvements addresses battery concerns, as the ROG Ally X now houses an 80Wh battery, ensuring extended gaming sessions without interruptions. Asus has also implemented enhanced thermal management with an additional vent, promising up to 6 degrees Celsius cooler operation.

Under the hood, the ROG Ally X runs on the Windows 11 operating system and is powered by AMD Z1 Extreme CPU processors, delivering robust performance. It boasts RNDA 3 AMD Radeon graphics for immersive gaming experiences. The device features a vibrant 7-inch LCD display supporting up to 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate with AMD FreeSync Premium support.

While the ROG Ally X is not a direct successor to the original ROG Ally, it represents a significant evolution of the design. Asus has hinted at future iterations, reaffirming its commitment to pushing boundaries in handheld gaming.
