Romance at Stanford
Long before she became Mrs. Hoover, Lou Henry was already blazing her trail. With a sharp mind and adventurous spirit, she earned a B.A. in Geology from Stanford University, where she first crossed paths with Herbert Hoover.

Their shared love for exploration and knowledge sparked an immediate connection. Lou was also remarkably skilled in Chinese, a testament to her linguistic talent and curiosity about the world. Her intelligence and capability matched Herbert’s ambitions, setting the stage for a life filled with partnership, global travels, and, eventually, a prominent role on the world stage as the First Lady.
