Ranking U.S. States from Least to Most Rude

Georgia’s reputation for Southern hospitality doesn’t entirely shield it from being one of the rudest states. With an average tipping rate of 16.4% and 4% of drivers displaying rude habits, particularly in Atlanta, the state’s growing urban population stresses its otherwise welcoming culture.

Atlanta’s infamous traffic often results in frayed tempers, while smaller towns tend to hold onto traditional friendliness. The rapid influx of transplants has created cultural shifts that sometimes lead to misunderstandings between longtime residents and newcomers. Nevertheless, Georgia’s rich traditions and sense of community often shine through, especially outside metropolitan areas.
