Samsung appears poised to raise the price of its book-style foldable, with reports suggesting the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 will see a bump in its price tag.
Historically, the Galaxy Fold series maintained a consistent pricing trend, with the Fold 3, Fold 4, and Fold 5 all priced at $1,799. This marked a reduction from the initial launch prices, where the Galaxy Fold debuted at $1,980 and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 at $1,999.
However, it seems the trend is shifting upwards once again.
According to SmartPrix, Samsung is gearing up to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 6 starting at $1,899.99 for the base 256GB model in the United States, representing a $100 increase from the previous year. Prices for other storage variants follow suit, with the 512GB model reportedly priced at $2,019.99 and the top-tier 1TB option set at $2,259.99.
This price adjustment comes as a surprise, especially considering that Samsung’s competitors have been consistently lowering the average cost of foldable devices.
It’s important to note that these prices are specific to the United States, and pricing in other markets may vary.
Additionally, reports suggest that Samsung will offer the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in three primary color variants: Navy, “Silver Shadow,” and Pink. It’s also likely that, as with previous models, Samsung will introduce additional colors exclusively through its online store.
