LGBTQ people had to fight long and hard to be accepted in society and, sadly, still face a lot of backlash today. Sure, things might be better today than they once were, but that doesn’t mean that everyone has put those harsh feelings behind them. If only there was a doll back when our parents were growing up that could have helped them with this issue for future generations…

1977 was the year “Gay Bob” came out, and finally, young queer children could see themselves being represented more in pop culture. We don’t know how popular they were since it sounds like they were more of an inside joke for the community than a commercial toy. But hey, it really could have been something.
