1. Honda HR-V

Honda has already revealed its plans to bring a new SUV in the Indian market, which will be the next big launch from Honda. Honda has confirmed its new HR-V, which is expected to be launched this year. Honda HR-V is expected to launch on June 11, 2024, with an expected price range of Rs 15 – 18 Lakh.

Being a compact SUV, it will compete with the MG Hector as well as the much-loved Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier. Honda has already announced that the SUV will come to the Indian market through the CKD route like its other models. However, we have still not received any clarity about the engine and gearbox options, which are still being evaluated. But we expect the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that powers the Honda City to make its way under the hood.

2. Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

The EQS SUV is a luxury electric SUV from Mercedes that was recently confirmed to arrive in the Indian markets in FY2024. Which was unveiled in Europe in mid-2022. It is built on the EVA2 platform and will be available with many beneficial features. It has been designed with respect to the design language of the EQ range and many of its exterior features such as its headlamps, grille and tail lamps are similar to the EQS sedan. Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is expected to launch on May 24, 2024, with an expected price range of Rs 1.75 – 2 Crore.

Inside, the car gets an MBUX hyperscreen setup that consists of three separate displays – one for the center console, one for the digital driver’s display and one for the passenger’s display. The European version of the car is available in three trims. The base 450+ produces 355 bhp and 568 Nm while the 450 4Matic produces the same 355 bhp but higher torque of 800 Nm. The top variant is the 580 4Matic which produces 536 bhp and 858 Nm.

3. Kia Soul

The new 2023 Kia Soul features sleek and classy design elements both inside and out. It is equipped with redesigned fog lights, a new grille, and available LED headlights, and is likely to be launched on June 13, 2024. Additionally, new daytime running lamps and front-end turn signals complete the redesign. Newly available 17-18-inch alloy wheels, a redesigned rear fascia, and updated taillights enhance the exterior further. Simplifying the lineup for 2023, the Kia Soul is offered in LX, S, EX, and GT-Line Tech trims.

According to reports, the Kia Soul will reach dealerships in Sima by the end of summer, with an expected price of Rs 10 – 12 lakh. Kia has been working to simplify the Soul lineup for the past few years, and for 2023, they have added an efficient 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine producing 147 bhp at 6,200 rpm and 178 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm, powering the front wheels. Kia’s Intelligent Variable Transmission is standard on all variants. The base model manual transmission was dropped last year, and now the optional 201-horsepower turbo engine is also being discontinued.

4. Renault Arkana

The Renault Arkana is a C-segment compact coupe-SUV. At the 2018 Moscow Auto Show, Renault unveiled the Arkana concept coupe-SUV, which is based on a modified version of the BO platform and the Renault Captur. This makes the Arkana a unique offering in its segment, with an expected price range of Rs 18 – 20 lakh for customers who do not want an SUV-like stance in their car. It is likely to be launched on June 26, 2024.

Overseas, the Renault Arkana is powered by a 1.3-liter TCe petrol engine, jointly developed by Renault, Nissan, and Mitsubishi. The power output is rated at 148 bhp, and the engine produces 250 Nm of peak torque. If launched in India, the Arkana may also get a second, more efficient engine with a lower power output, a 1.5-liter unit that develops 108 bhp.

It features an 8-inch touchscreen interface for the Renault Easy Link multimedia system, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Multi-Sense technology gives the driver a choice of three driving modes (Eco, Sport, My Sense), and there are eight wide color options. Boot space with all seats up is 508 liters, which can be expanded to 1,333 liters by folding the split rear seats.

5. MG Marvel X

MG Motor announced in 2020 that they would soon launch an electric SUV in India. The company stated that within a year of launching its first car, it would introduce its second car in the market, which would be a pure-electric SUV. The estimated launch date of the MG Marvel X is June 26, 2024, and its expected price range is approximately Rs 25 – 30 lakh.

He described it as a one-of-a-kind SUV in the market that they plan to launch in the second quarter of next year. The MG Marvel SUV offers a range of over 400 km on a single charge. The battery pack takes 8.5 hours to fully charge using an AC charger, and it can reach 80 percent charge in 40 minutes using a DC charger.
